Welcome! We all were new at one time and we remember what it's like. So we've provided the information below, knowing that it's easier to venture into a new place when you know what to expect.

About Us

HBC exists to encourage all people to pursue a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ.

It was back in 2000 that a small group of people founded a church in Hartshill. We are a nondenominational, evangelical Christian church. That means that we are governed by our own elders, not an outside organization. We chose the name Hartshill Bible Church as the Bible is the source of our beliefs and the measure of our practices.

Sunday Mornings

Presently about 45 people attend HBC each Sunday, and visitors find us warm and welcoming. Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. You'll see people dressed in all styles—from jeans to business suits.

HBC offers classic worship with traditional hymns together with more modern compositions. Each service lasts for one hour and fifteen minutes. Children are made welcome and during the sermon we have a Sunday school and also a crèche for the young ones.

Following the service we serve coffee and tea to encourage people to stay around and meet one another. Finally, we do not take up a collection, so you need not feel embarrassed.

Audio recordings of sermons given on previous Sundays can be found by clicking on the AudioSermons button on the main menu.

Help on Sundays

The school has a car park and access is easy for the disabled. There is also a hearing loop in the hall.

If you need to talk or pray with someone about a personal struggle,
there is help available.

Sunday Evenings

Our evening service follows much the same pattern as the morning, though the teaching will be more directed to those who already have some knowledge of the Bible. Visitors are again always welcome.

Getting Connected

Getting connected at HBC is about relationships that get beneath the surface. Those kinds of relationship won’t come simply by attending worship services. They take time.

One way to get connected is to join a Christianity Explored course. These are arranged as needed and aim to introduce people to the Bible and what it is to be a Christian. The course runs for between 6 and 12 weeks and gives ample opportunity for questions and discussion.
