Why is the day Jesus was crucified termed Good Friday? It certainly didn't seem good to those who were there.
Yet his followers a few days later were celebrating his death.
Their good news to the world was “Jesus Christ crucified”. This was a problem for Jews and foolishness to the rest.
Not only did they celebrate the death of Christ but they made it central to their message. Why?

It is an ancient belief but still very popular, that we should “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die”.
Tomorrow—the future—we die. That’s it! Have your fun now because there is nothing to look forward to. Death is literally a dead end. Or is it? Is there something to look forward to? How can we know? Can we be certain?
